The Squirt A Travel Team had an incredible week of hockey, family fun and a life time of memories the week of Janaury 4, 2010. The team played the Skokie Flyers at the United Center, and the stayed to watch the Blachawks beat Minnesota. What a thrill for the kids to skate there and to watch their favorite players like Patrick Kane and Jonathon Toews. The team then traveled to Niagra Falls, Ontario for the Silver Stck Championships. There were 16 teams in their division. The team went 2-1 in pool play beating a team from New York City and Pelham, Ontario. The team lost to the eventual Tier 1 Champion, Whitby, Ontario in the quarter finals. The kids played great and represented the IYHL with class both on and off the ice. The kids also got to see Niagra Falls, exchange IYHL pins with teams from Califiornia, Colorado, Nashville, Canada and many other locations. Some kids even went to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. It was a great week for hockey, educational activities and family time.
