House League

🏒 IYHL House League – Where Hockey Starts and Grows

The IYHL House League is designed to give players a fun, supportive, and development-focused hockey experience. This program is perfect for beginners and developing players who want to learn the game, build confidence, and fall in love with hockey in a positive team environment.

Our House League emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork over competition, with balanced teams, age-appropriate coaching, and a focus on learning through play. Practices and games are structured to help players improve skating, puck control, and game awareness while having fun with friends on and off the ice.

Whether your child is new to hockey or looking for a less intensive option than travel, the IYHL House League provides a welcoming path to grow, compete, and enjoy the game—one shift at a time.

Ages

The IYHL House League follows USA Hockey age classifications to ensure fair, safe, and developmentally appropriate competition for all players. Age groups are determined by birth year (January 1 – December 31), per USA Hockey guidelines.

For the 2026-2027 season, the following age divisions will be offered:

6U – 2020, 2021, 2022 birth year
8U – 2018 & 2019 birth years
10U – 2016 & 2017 birth years
12U – 2014 & 2015 birth years
14U – 2012 & 2013 birth years
16U – 2010 & 2011 birth years

Players will be placed in the appropriate division based on their birth year to promote balanced teams, proper skill development, and a positive experience for everyone on the ice.

When

House League is from November to March ending with Championship Sunday!

Where

All IYHL House League practices and games will be held at one of our home rinks: Ice Box Skating Rink or Compton Family Ice Arena.

Practices

All teams practice other than 6U practice two times a week, 6U practices one time a week.

Games

House Games are typically on Saturday or Sunday weekly.

Jerseys

Jerseys are included in the registration fee.

2026 2027 House League

Registration for the IYHL House League opens in Summer 2026 and closes in mid-October. Early registration is encouraged to help with team formation and scheduling.
